Specialist Doctor in Cardiology – 2 Posts


About the Role

The Cardiology Department at North Lincolnshire and Goole Hospitals NHS Trust (NLAG) is seeking two Specialist Doctors in Cardiology to support acute services at Scunthorpe General Hospital (SGH).

These posts will focus on cardiology assessment and triage of patients admitted to SGH and facilitating their onward management. In addition, there is the opportunity to develop specialist interests in specific areas of cardiology, with potential activity at Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (HUTH).

There is no out-of-hours requirement for these positions.


Key Responsibilities

As a Specialist Doctor in Cardiology, you will:

  • Provide cardiology assessment, triage, and management of inpatients at SGH

  • Liaise closely with on-call Cardiology Consultants at Diana Princess of Wales Hospital (Grimsby) and Castle Hill Hospital (Hull)

  • Undertake specialist cardiology work aligned to your areas of interest

  • Deliver high standards of patient-centred care within a multi-site, collaborative cardiology service

  • Contribute to the development of high-quality services across the Humber Health Partnership


Candidate Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • At least 6 years of cardiology training experience

  • Expertise in performing and interpreting echocardiograms

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

  • The ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
